How I Maintain Healthy Skin & Avoid Breakouts

Good mornings loves! Recently, I’ve been receiving quite a few questions regarding my ‘skincare best practices’… Since I’ve personally gone through quite a transformation over the past few years with my own skincare routine, I thought it may be helpful to share some tips with you guys. Hopefully you’ll see positive results as well! <3 Eliminate animal products from your diet. There is nothing worse for your skin in my opinion than dairy, and meat products. Before I became vegan I used to break out quite often (and usually after eating a big cheesy pizza). So, if you are an omnivore, try even just eliminating animal products for a week or two- so you can see for yourself. I guarantee you’ll notice less breakouts, and more radiant skin almost immediately. Increase your water intake. As soon as you start drinking more water and filtering out all those toxins, you allow your skin to breathe again. I drink 3 litres of water everyday and this definitely keeps my skin healthy and glowing (not to mention all the …

The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary

Good morning! I’m so excited to share a little bit about our visit to The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary! Irek and I have been wanting to visit for months now, so last Saturday we headed to Aldergrove to meet all of the beautiful animals at Happy Herd! 🙂 Happy Herd is the first farm animal sanctuary on the West Coast- they officially opened in 2014 and have since touched the lives of so many animals (and humans alike). The sanctuary is the most beautiful, peaceful, loving place I’ve been… I was in heaven! We got to meet all of the different animals that call Happy Herd home, including: Baby the Donkey, Larry and Moe- the resident turkeys, Lucy the pig, Sparky the Cow… and many more! You can tell the animals are showered with love and kindness, as they themselves are gentle, friendly, and peaceful… except the white goat… don’t pet the white goat! hehe 😉 but on a serious note, JillyBean the white goat was an SPCA seizure. It took Stephen and Diane a …

Vancouver Yoga

Yoga Update + Relief for Sore Muscles

Good morning beautiful people! I hope everyone had an amazing long weekend. The weather in Vancouver has been glorious lately, full sun and 25+ everyday! I hope it’s beautiful where you are as well! 🙂 First off, I just wanted to share a little bit about where I’m at in my yoga journey… I recently made the decision to start on my path to teaching. I can honestly say, teaching yoga was never on my radar… If you told me 5 years ago that this would be my focus, I wouldn’t have taken you seriously. But yoga has come into my life for a reason… It’s become a form of expression, a way of life, and the path to divine love. I will be spending a month in Bali next spring for an intensive 200 hour yoga teacher training course. I’m so excited and am simply allowing my decisions to be lead by my heart… Because of this, I’ve been able to find my own truths, and honour them at the deepest level. It’s so important …

Whole Hearted Eating

When I was in Australia a couple weeks ago, my beautiful friend and published Author, Robyn Louise, cooked me the most amazing meal. Her ‘Mushroom, Kale and Lentil Chowder’ was to die for… and her satay sauce? Out of this world! She is one talented lady who I’m proud to call one of my closest friends. Our paths first crossed in Bali two years ago, and since then, we’ve developed a strong bond full of love and support. She inspires me everyday and I’m truly honoured to be going through this amazing journey of life with her. She is one of the kindest, most loving people I have ever met… If you don’t already know her, check out her Instagram page for more. Earlier this year, Robyn released her first book titled “80 Things That Changed my Life” which is full of little tips and tricks to help you lead a happier, healthier and more fulfilled life. She then went on to release her second book- this time a full on cookbook inclusive of over 50 recipes! The …

Famoso Pizzeria

I was recently invited to try some vegan pizzas at Famoso Pizzeria on Commercial Drive in VanCity. I can’t lie… I was a bit skeptical seeing as I just visited a brand new, fully plant-based pizzeria in China Town and was blown away. But… obviously I accepted the invite… who says no to pizza?! And, to my pleasant surprise, the pizzas were so good! 🙂 The menu was vegan & vegetarian friendly, with the ability to substitute Daiya cheese on any of the pizzas. They also had some nice vegan salads + a fully vegan sandwich…. so there were definitely options! It’s actually the perfect pizzeria to visit if you’re heading out with both omnivores and herbivores! And, the more us herbivores band together and order plant-based dishes from restaurants like this, the more they’ll realize the demand is there and in turn, increase their vegan offerings (perhaps phase animal products out altogether… a girl can wish can’t she?!). Famoso Pizzeria has locations across Canada in BC, AB, SK and ON. If you have a location near you, I …

Fall Favourites

Fall has officially arrived… And that means winter is just around the corner! For me, that means tons of rain and lots of hibernation. For my Ontario friends and family that means lots of snow, and lots of shovelling. Either way – not super fun. But, on a happier note… Since it’s a new season, I thought it would be fun to show you guys a few new products that I’m really loving. And, if you happen to have any recommendations for products I should try, let me know in the comments! 🙂 This beautiful watch you see above is a product I received from JORD Wood Watches a couple weeks ago. I’m absolutely loving it – specifically because of how light and versatile it is! This model is the Frankie Zebrawood and Champagne but there are tons of different sizes and styles on their site if you’re interested. And if you are, follow this link: JORD Fall Giveaway to enter to win a $75.00 e-gift code towards any of their products (also just by entering you’ll receive a $20.00 e-gift …

Virtuous Pie Restaurant

My favourite food for as long as I can remember has been pizza. But since going vegan 14 months ago it’s been the one food I haven’t really eaten much of. I’ve made it a few times at home but it’s been mediocre at best… So, you can imagine my delight when I heard there was a new vegan pizza + ice cream shop opening in Vancouver! Virtuous Pie opened their doors just a couple weeks ago in China Town and I cannot recommend them enough. Their pizzas and salads were soooo delicious. And, their dairy-free ice cream was the best Irek and I have ever had! So… do yourself a favour and get some vegan pizza from Virtuous Pie! They deliver too. 🙂 Hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far. Sending lots of love!! 🙂 Cheers, Molly xx __________ “I will not kill or hurt any living creature needlessly, nor destroy any beautiful thing, but will strive to save and comfort all gentle life, and guard and perfect all natural beauty upon the earth.” – John …

So long, Summer!

I can’t believe summer is coming to an end! It went so quickly this year, and I’m not ready for the rainy season yet! I’m trying to stay positive though and keep in mind that without the rain we wouldn’t have such a lush and beautiful province. So really, we should be grateful. 🙂 I did struggle a bit last year during the fall and winter months though, because we got so much rain; it really does affect your overall mindset (if you let it). It was the most rain we’ve experienced since Irek and I moved here 3 + years ago. So this year, we’re taking matters into our owns hands and have decided that the best option is to travel once every month or so, and head to tropical places only! This way we’ll break up the winter and it won’t feel so long. Next month we’re heading to Florida and Mexico, followed by Bali and Australia in November/December. But, in the meantime… I’m trying to get outside as much as possible and do …

Lettuce Love Cafe

I’m so happy that we made a last minute decision to try Lettuce Love Cafe in Burlington the day before we flew home to VanCity. Lettuce Love Cafe is situated in the beautiful city of Burlington, Ontario (about an hour South of Toronto). It’s 100% plant-based and the food was absolutely delicious! It’s safe to say it was the best food we’ve had in the GTA since transitioning to a herbivorous lifestyle. Lettuce Love Cafe has actually been rated the #1 restaurant in Burlington multiple times over the last 6 years and they have plans to expand and also offer a smoothie bar + smoothie bowls right next door! What more do you need in life?! I already can’t wait to go back next time I’m in the area! Irek and I both rate this restaurant a 10/10 hands down. We loved our meals so much. I had a Mexican bowl with a really nice tofu scramble, and Irek had a power bowl with sweet potatoes, kale, mushrooms etc. We also tried some avocado fries, which …
