Yoga Update + My New Fave Mat

Good morning loves, <3 There are quite a few advanced yoga postures I’m currently working on in my practice, so I thought I’d share a few with you (along with some tips) and perhaps you can relate it to your own practice. 🙂 The first posture I’m working on is king dancer! This pose seemed so far out of my reach even just a few months ago… But one day during my practice last month, I flipped my grip at the last minute and voila! I pulled it off… somewhat. 😉 King dancer is a very intense posture for me, so I make sure to warm up lots before getting into the full expression. I like to do lots of heartopeners and really focus on warming up my shoulders (lots of extended puppy) beforehand. You’ll notice a huge, positive difference in your ability to pull off ANY posture if you take the time to warm up and stretch first. I can’t stress that enough.  Another posture I’m working towards (and have been for some time …

So long, Summer!

I can’t believe summer is coming to an end! It went so quickly this year, and I’m not ready for the rainy season yet! I’m trying to stay positive though and keep in mind that without the rain we wouldn’t have such a lush and beautiful province. So really, we should be grateful. 🙂 I did struggle a bit last year during the fall and winter months though, because we got so much rain; it really does affect your overall mindset (if you let it). It was the most rain we’ve experienced since Irek and I moved here 3 + years ago. So this year, we’re taking matters into our owns hands and have decided that the best option is to travel once every month or so, and head to tropical places only! This way we’ll break up the winter and it won’t feel so long. Next month we’re heading to Florida and Mexico, followed by Bali and Australia in November/December. But, in the meantime… I’m trying to get outside as much as possible and do …

Current Workout Routine

Good morning! It’s a beautiful day in VanCity today – the sun is shining and the birds are chirping! It’s a good day to be alive. Take a moment and be grateful. I thought it would be beneficial for some of you if I outline my current workout routine. Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of questions on Instagram and Snapchat regarding this so will go into detail here for you. 🙂 Currently I am working out 6 days a week with one rest day (which varies – I don’t have a set rest day, I just listen to my body and rest when it needs to). So, at the moment I do yoga every other morning for an hour and 15 minutes. I rotate between focusing on heart centre (lots of back-bending/heart openers), throat (poses that focus on stretching the throat), and roots/sacral (focusing on base of spine, so lots of hip openers). I do mostly vinyasa yoga, but also power yoga as well to strengthen my core. The days that I don’t do …

Beach Workout

Yesterday Irek and I went to brunch at my favourite restaurant, Heirloom Vegetarian. I just cannot get enough of that place!  After we ate and Irek did some work, we headed to Jericho Beach in Kitsilano, and did a quick 30 minute HIIT workout (sprints, lunges, squats & tricep dips).  So nice to be able to exercise outside! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and sending lots of love for the week ahead! 🙂 Cheers, Molly xx __________ “Let us try to recognize the precious nature of each day.” – Dalai Lama XIV

Yoga with a View

It’s so lovely to have nice weather in BC again. Five months of straight up rain is a bit much! We’re expecting full sun and 20 degrees this week, which means lots of outdoor workouts for me. 🙂 I’ve been really into fitness and taking care of myself since I met my boyfriend almost 6 years ago. We workout together quite often and have done everything from crossfit, to body weight exercises, to weight training, to yoga. My focus over the last couple of years has been on my yoga practice, but I still do a ton of body weight exercises as well as cardio. I’m really looking forward to sharing some of my workout routines with you guys, and perhaps you’ll get inspired to try them out for yourself! Have a beautiful day, and keep smiling!
