Costa Rica Yoga Snaps

Good morning!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day so far. I’m back home in Vancouver for the next few weeks and am feeling super refreshed after spending the last couple of weeks in beautiful Costa Rica. 🙂

I didn’t get too many yoga sessions in while we were abroad, but that’s just because we spent so much time exploring and discovering the country. Costa Rica is an incredible place, magical really, and so full of love and positive energy. I plan on sharing lots with you over the next couple of weeks…

But for now, I hope you enjoy some of my fave yoga snaps from Costa Rica!

One Year Blog Anniversary: Instagram Giveaway!

Good afternoon loves! 🙂

Finally it’s spring in British Columbia! We had sooo much precipitation this year and actually, March was titled the “gloomiest on record”… so we are definitely due for some sun!! I hope you’re getting adequate Vitamin D wherever it is that you live! It’s so important for our overall health and mindset!

It’s been just over a year since I launched my blog! One whole year… and what a journey it has been. I’ve truly loved sharing my adventures with you and can’t thank you enough for all of the ongoing support. Going forward, you can expect lots more content surrounding yoga and meditation, spirituality, travel, health and wellness etc! 🙂

So, that being said, to thank you for all of your love and support over the last year, I’m running a pretty awesome giveaway on my Instagram! You have the chance to win some amazing products from a few of my very favourite companies.

As you probably already know, my go-to yoga brand is Tonic Active. Tonic is a Vancouver based company and the materials they use are so comfortable (and sustainable!), and stylish… What more do you want?! Tonic has graciously sponsored a $100.00 e-gift card for the winner!

Namaste TV is a Vancouver based yoga company and has one of the most supportive, loving communities I’ve been a part of. I had the honour of participating in The Namaste Challenge this past January and was beyond inspired by all of the beautiful yogis and yoginis! Namaste TV will be sending a gift box to the winner with some beautiful products from their online store! 🙂

You probably have heard me mention Osea Malibu before- an ethical, vegan skincare line from California. They are, hands down, the BEST skincare line I have ever used. I was introduced to a couple others over the past few months, but nothing compares to Osea (at least from my personal experience). So make sure to enter the contest as you could win a $112.00 personalized skincare set from Osea!

Exploring Whistler with Nita Lake Lodge

A couple weeks ago we spent some time at Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler. To be honest, I fell in love the second we stepped foot on the property. Okay… so that could have had something to do with the three overwhelmingly gorgeous golden retrievers sprawled out in the middle of the lobby! I can’t think of a more perfect welcome. 🙂  Since the hotel is pet friendly, they have many neighbourhood pups who hang out and greet people as they’re checking in, while their parents are enjoying a few cocktails at the lounge… So adorable!! <3

Nita Lake Lodge has a very relaxed, tranquil atmosphere. I felt like any tension I was carrying dissipated immediately, even just within the first few minutes of being there… I’m already dreaming of how lovely it will be to spend some time there in the summer. It’s actually the only hotel on a lake in Whistler, so it’s the place to be in the warmer months if you’re into kayaking and supping etc! Irek and I will for sure head back in July or August for a few nights. 🙂

Nita Lake Lodge Whistler

We had some really lovely meals at Nita Lake Lodge. The hotel has some great vegan options and they’re very health conscious overall, which is so great! The first night we checked we had a lovely dinner at Aura Restaurant with our friends Reid and Maryrose of Wanderlustyle Travel Blog. Not only was the food amazing, but the conversation even better! It’s so nice connecting with like-minded people who are genuinely kind, supportive, and just truly want the best for each other. I miss them already!

Nita Lake Lodge Whistler

Our room at the lodge could not have been cozier! We had a beautiful view of Whistler mountain and there was nature all around… what more can you ask for!? Waking up to the birds chirping and the fresh mountain air is pretty magical. Nita Lake Lodge is the perfect getaway even if you just head up for the weekend. I guarantee you’ll leave feeling super refreshed and ready to tackle another week…

Now, if you do plan on visiting the hotel, I highly recommend having a treatment at the Nita Lake Lodge Spa. They use all organic products and were ranked in the top 20 spas in all of Canada, as well as top 10 organic spas in the world! The Ila Kundalini massage is their signature treatment and it focuses on the 7 Chakras to either bring energy in, or release it. I was definitely receptive to the massage and was able to reach a very calm, meditative state. It’s a treatment that helps to balance you and find your centre. It was truly beautiful so definitely check it out if you’re in Whistler!

Nita Lake Lodge Whistler

Other than spending time relaxing at the lodge, we headed out on a snowmobiling adventure with Reid, Mary and their son Landon. It was honestly one of the most fun winter days I’ve ever had… I’m not huge into winter sports and I much prefer beaches to mountains, but the snowmobiling was so much fun! And the views from Cougar Mountain were so epic. A huge thank you to The Adventure Group for hosting us! I plan on this being a regular activity with all of our visitors going forward! 🙂

Whistler Canada

Hope you guys enjoyed the post and got a bit of a feel for the beauty of Whistler and Nita Lake Lodge!  We had an amazing time and can’t wait to visit again soon. Huge thank you to Nita Lake Lodge for hosting us!

Sending love,

Why I love Vancouver

There are so many reasons why I love Vancouver. The people, the energy, the fresh mountain air, the fact that we have the largest coastal temperate rainforest in the world, the proximity to the Pacific Ocean… need I say more? That’s why it’s always such a pleasure when our friends visit and we have the opportunity to show them around, while at the same time renewing our love for this beautiful, lush province.

Irek and I spent last week with fellow Travel Bloggers and Hawaii natives, Reid and Maryrose of Wanderlustyle Travel and Lifestyle Blog. They visited Canada for the first time with their globe trotting 10 year old son Landon (who happens to be the coolest, most relaxed kid I’ve met). We were also reunited with two very special people, Kim and Phil (Love Over Blood, The Vegan Artists Collective) who we first met in Bali last year… I loved them from the very first second.

On their first full day in Vancouver, we headed to a few must-sees in the area: Capilano Suspension Bridge, Lighthouse Park, and The Cleveland Dam. The weather was exactly what you’d expect in March in VanCity… overcast, damp, chilly, but really fresh and really clean. Suffice to say, it was a true BC experience!

As for accommodations, we stayed downtown at Opus Hotel. It’s a super cute boutique hotel in a great location, and has some really nice, trendy restaurants in the area.

Opus Bar also has some pretty fantastic cocktails and a really chilled out, intimate vibe… Perfect for a girls night or date night perhaps?! Irek and I will definitely head back there soon for a cocktail, or two. 🙂

After spending the first few nights in Vancouver, we all headed to Whistler… more to come.

Lots of love,

Molly xx

Finding Your Calm Through Meditation

In late 2016 I started to take my meditation practice much more seriously. Prior to this year, I was meditating sporadically and found myself struggling to adopt a routine that worked for me. But, after a few months of practice, I have now come to a place where I look forward to it each day and have come to cherish both the silence and profound understanding that meditation brings.

As for the structure of my meditation routine, there isn’t really much to tell. I know myself well enough now to know that I don’t do too well with strict schedules or too much structure. So, sometimes I’ll mediate immediately following breakfast, and before heading to the yoga studio. And sometimes, I’ll meditate directly after my yoga practice, before heading back home. I allow myself to go with the flow and permit my schedule to vary from day to day, if necessary. This easy-going mindset has actually aided me when keeping up with my daily practice. I think it’s so important to understand that meditation gets easier over time and with practice, so don’t be hard on yourself. Eventually you’ll feel at peace and have the ability to relax quickly, and to find a calm state within the mind and body.

Now, I do also want to mention a new product I’ve been using pre-meditation, from a California based company called Ojai Energetics.  The product is called Super CBD and is formulated for those looking to reap the amazing benefits from CBD-rich hemp oil. If you’re not familiar with CBD (cannibidiol), simply put, it’s a component of marijuana but does not produce the psychoactive effects. What it does provide, in my opinion and from my own personal research, is strong medicinal and therapeutic effects. I find taking a dropper full pre-meditation calms my nerves and allows for a relaxed, flow state during my practice. For me, it’s been very beneficial.

Ojai’s Super CBD uses non-gmo and organic ingredients, inclusive of pure, sustainable hemp. The company focuses on ethically grown materials and is super passionate about the environment. This is a company doing great things, helping people find alternative ways to live in a calm, flow state. If you’re interested in learning more about CBD and it’s benefits, have a look at Ojai Energetic’s website as it has a ton of fantastic information. You can also check out the links I’ve included below for a broader education on the subject.

I wish you a beautiful day, and should you have any questions about the information included in this post, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I’d love to hear your thoughts and start a dialogue. 🙂

Lots of love, namaste.

Cabo Pool Views

Recently, Irek and I spent a few days in Mexico at Hotel Marquis Los Cabos. It’s situated in the most beautiful location, with gorgeous, sweeping views of the coast. At night time, we left our balcony door wide open so we could hear the waves crashing aggressively, and with intention against the shoreline of the Pacific. The time will soon come where I’ll fall asleep to the sound of the waves breaking every night… and that for me, will be ultimate joy.

I had some truly beautiful moments at Hotel Marquis, walking along the shore all alone, not a soul in sight. There is something to be said about the energy you feel when you’re close to the ocean. It’s electric really, but only if you allow it to wash over you. I feel most vulnerable when I’m walking alone along the coast, but vulnerable in the best way possible. It’s good for the soul and more healing than any medicine you could ever be prescribed.

One&Only Palmilla, Los Cabos

Over the past couple of years, Irek and I have traveled a fair bit, and have had the pleasure of visiting many beautiful hotels around the world. Most recently, we spent a few magical nights at One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico. We’ve been to Mexico a few times now, but never to the Pacific side, only the Caribbean, so we really didn’t know what to expect. To say that Cabo took our breath away would be an understatement; it’s truly something else. The first night we arrived, we were both speechless and fully prepared to soak in every moment of our time at One&Only.

This hotel is without a doubt the most beautiful I’ve ever visited. Not only is it aesthetically beautiful, but it also has a very intimate, romantic vibe (1200 candles are lit every night all around the property!). It’s located on The Baja Peninsula, and has views of both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. The hotel was built in 1956 by Don Abelardo Rodriguez, the son of the president, and started out as a 15 room luxury hideaway. It’s since become a travel destination for many celebrities and political figures, as the exclusivity of the property has been well preserved.

First Impressions;

I’ve never had a more enjoyable check-in than at One&Only Palmilla. First off, the path leading down to the hotel is absolutely breathtaking in itself, surrounded by lush gardens and the most beautiful palm trees we’ve seen. We were quickly (& efficiently!) escorted to our room to enjoy some tequila made specifically for One&Only, with our lovely butler Carlos, while getting acquainted with our room. We then attended a beautiful art event showcasing Jane Waterous’ stunning collection titled “Gatherings”. It was a fantastic first impression and really set the mood for our entire stay. Thanks to Carlos, Alex, and the lovely staff for the very warm welcome!

The Grounds;

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’d know I’m a sucker for nature, lush greenery, and beautiful views… Hence why I fell in love with One&Only Palmilla so quickly! Everywhere you walk is more beautiful than the next. And when I first laid eyes on the beach and the surrounding rock formations, my jaw dropped. It felt like a dream, and it’s not often I’m left speechless. One&Only is one of those places you really have to experience for yourself, with your own eyes; I just hope the pictures will do it justice. 😉

One & Only Palmilla Los Cabos

The Spa;

Oh Mayra, what can I say? My standards of what a truly great massage should be, have forever been raised. I do enjoy a good massage here and there, but I’m no connoisseur by any means… And I don’t usually find myself thinking during my treatment, “I hope this never ends”! Generally 60 minutes is perfect for me, and I’m good to go. But this was not the case at One&Only… I found myself wishing for it never to end! Mayra, my masseuse, was incredible. Irek said the same about his experience and we’re already dreaming of our next treatment at One&Only!

One & Only Palmilla Los Cabos

The Cuisine;

Lastly, I have to touch on the cuisine, because it was incredible! Our first night we had the most beautiful dining experience at Agua by Larbi, sitting cliffside with the moon shining bright above us. The Chef presented us with a fantastic menu inclusive of a variety of different plant-based dishes, all of which were a 10/10! We loved everything about the food (and the service!). Our dietary preferences were met with ease and we couldn’t have been more pleased.

One & Only Palmilla Los Cabos

A huge thank you to One&Only Palmilla for hosting us. We have such fond memories and plan to visit often! We also can’t wait to start exploring the other One&Only’s of the world…

Thanks so much for reading, sending love and light.

Cheers,

Molly xx

My Top 3 Asanas for Stress Relief

We live in a very fast-paced, somewhat chaotic world… it’s so easy to become overwhelmed, stressed out, anxious, etc. The key is recognizing when you’re in these negative states and neutralizing them as quickly and calmly as possible. Therefore, I thought it may be helpful to share with you my top 3 asanas for stress relief. If I ever feel like I can’t catch my breath,  these are my go-to postures. I spend anywhere from 5 – 15 minutes in them.

Puppy Pose

The first posture is called Puppy Pose. Puppy is a great stretch for the shoulders and spine. Personally, when I’m in this pose I feel an overwhelming sense of surrender to the posture; this gives me the ability to let go of any tension or stress I may be carrying. If you’re a beginner, this posture may actually feel quite intense on the shoulders, so take it slow and only go as far as feels good.

Savasana (with legs up the wall)

The ultimate relaxation posture a.k.a. just lay there and do nothing. Stay in Savasana a minimum of 5 minutes and maximum of… however long you need to be there. Really try to feel the ground holding you up, just you against the Earth. My preference when I’m feeling a bit stressed, is Savasana with legs up the wall (but classic Savasana is just as lovely and effective).

Child’s Pose

Out of all 3 of these postures, Child’s Pose is my ultimate go-to. For me personally, this one trumps the others by way of enabling me to find my calm very quickly. I feel safe and protected in this posture and I love to stay in it for upwards of 15 minutes. If it’s more comfortable, you can open your knees and sink your chest down lower. You can even rock your head gently from side to side. Just breathe.

I hope you’ll try these postures sometime when you’re feeling a little bit overwhelmed… I guarantee they won’t do any harm, so it can’t hurt to try. If you have any questions at all, let me know in the comments below, or feel free to send me an email. 🙂

Lots of love, namaste.

We’re all Connected

It’s crazy to think that most of us go through our lives feeling totally disconnected and disempowered. We believe that life is just happening to us, and all we can do is react…

But the truth is, we are all connected; connected to each other, to the planet, and to the endless, infinite energies that exist within this incredible universe. Once you’re able to break through and tap into this infinite energy (divine love if you will), you’ll experience life on a much deeper level… your days will start to have meaning, and purpose. You’ll realize that you are the co-creator of your life and that you have the power.

I urge you to take care this year… Meditate and do yoga as much as possible, nourish yourself with plant-based foods, take care of your physical body, and most importantly, treat others with kindness and compassion (including our animal friends).

Remember that you can manifest anything you want… we all can; we’re all connected.

Namaste,

Molly xx

Infinite Prosperity Ball + Yacht 2016

Seeing as this will be my very last post of 2016, I thought it fitting to share some photos from The Infinite Prosperity Ball + Yacht 2016…

Infinite Prosperity Ball 2016

We met some truly incredible people, all on their own individual journeys, conquering fears and becoming the best versions of themselves they possibly can. Some think Infinite Prosperity is solely a trading education company… but it’s not, it’s so much more than that. It’s a movement and it’s powerful. Amy and Lewis cultivated the most inspiring community of entrepreneurs, traders, dreamers, believers, and the list goes on…

I’m honoured and humbled to be surrounded by so many extraordinary individuals. Thank you so much to everyone who made our experience in Australia so memorable. Irek and I are so excited for next year!

Lastly, I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who visited and supported my blog this year… It’s been an amazing 9 months, and I really hope you’ve enjoyed the content. Can’t wait to share more of my journey in 2017 with you.

Happy new year! Lots of love 🙂

Cheers,
